KEY TAKEAWAYS:

-- Ashlee made her financial goal from teaching in order to make their family goals, which looks like Ashlee teaching and traveling instead of staying home with the kids.

-- After childbirth, she recruited and paid her mother-in-law to be their on-the-road nanny and assist with child care to enable Ashlee to have someone she could trust and was familiar with to watch her children while she worked!

-- Sometimes, we hold back from taking leads to opportunities and don't follow up for various reasons like fear and anxiety.

-- If you want something, it will likely be hard. Do not give up; push through the work and the harder times to get to the other side of success.

-- During the pregnancy of her 2nd child, Ashlee left her salon for a salon suite, decided to film her education and sell it, and out-earned her husband that year in the spire of pregnancy and delivering child #2!

-- Maintaining financial discipline will enable you to manage your finances during emergencies...even a pandemic!

-- When you are independent, but in all aspects of the hair industry, you have to do a good job to get a referral and continuously grow to be successful!

-- You dream of good health, but you PLAN for the things you want.

-- Do not let outside factors determine your worth or place in this world. Have security in yourself and trust in God.

-- Find balance through planning, focused execution, & not letting distractions of social engagements, other's opinions, or any other external force get in your way. Stay focused, keep your eye on your goal, but enjoy the journey along the way.

-- Nothing is guaranteed in this life, so focus on your craft, passion, and progression.

β€œI THINK HAIRSTYLISTS ARE THE COOLEST, NICEST, AND MOST FUN GROUP OF PEOPLE ON THE PLANET! I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT USHERING IN AN EMPOWERED-STYLIST FUTURE, AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE GETTING STYLISTS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE TOGETHER IN A NON-COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE WE CAN LEARN, LAUGH, AND GROW TOGETHER.”
-Said by ME!
Robert started his hair journey as a kid in rural America offering haircuts on the street to kids in the neighborhood, not realizing, one day, he would find himself working the front desk at a hair salon while in high school. From there, his experience from salon-to-salon has included the front of the house, back of the house, stylist, educator, and consultant. It was during this movement through various salons he developed a passion to empower stylists and educate owners on how to raise the industry standard of excellence, mutual respect, and professionalism amongst stylists, managers, owners, and clients. Robert currently is the General Manager and a Master Stylist at Violet Salon in Georgetown, DC.
